| Shelby GT police chase commercial | | Posted Saturday, December 09, 2006 12:46:17 PM by Blog57 Team | | One thing that seems to be working at Ford is the advertising group's creativity. There have been some pretty clever ideas coming from those studios, and if you follow this link to the Shelby Autos website, you'll see the fruits of their labor once again. As a follow up to the Mustang GT burnout "how to" featuring the father and son in a parking garage and the GT500 "couldn't find a suitable speed limit' spot, we hope to see this one on TV as well. We're a little curious as to why they used the rental-only Shelby GT-H in the video instead of the available-to-everybody Shelby GT, but it's not like it diminishes the fun in any way. Enjoy. The manager of his car collection presented the GT, which would be worth more than $140,000 if sold, to the auto mechanics school this week, the Phoenix Business Journal reported. Cage reportedly toured the Universal Technical Institute recently and thought the school's programs were "impressive," saying, "I wish I had had an opportunity like this when I was younger," the paper reported. He is a longtime auto enthusiast who has a substantial collection, according to fan sites. The GT will go on display at the school and will be viewable by the public at an open house on November 29. | | | Ford GT reaches end of the line | | Posted Saturday, September 30, 2006 6:46:07 AM by Blog57 Team | | You've been gouged at the dealership, begging them to let you buy a Ford GT. Well, that is finally coming to an end because the Detroit carmaker has ceased production of the 550hp supercar. Yup, now you can get ripped off in the used car market trying to get your speed-junkie hands on the incredible coupe. The Wixom Assembly plant rolled out the last Ford GT late yesterday, effectively capping the total count at 4,038 units after just 15 months of production. As a refresher, the Ford GT packed a V8 engine that rocketed the car from zero to 60mph in 3.3 seconds before topping out at over 200mph. Although the MSRP was set at $150K, it was not out of the ordinary to see prices spike to $175K. Read [Via ] .... | |

We are rebuilding our business for the future with an emphasis on more new products faster and that includes more customer features and advanced technologies throughout our entire lineup, said Fields. | | | Design Language: Is the Audi R8 Hotness or Notness? | | Posted Tuesday, August 29, 2006 2:46:11 AM by Blog57 Team | | For years, pistonheads the world 'round have divined Audi's long-rumored (now confirmed) supercar, the R8. With each new prototype Ingolstadt unveiled -- the Terminator 3--reject Rosemeyer, the French-porn-star-sexy Nuvolari, the HR Geiger--faced Le Mans -- enthusiasts' mental picture of the imminent resolved: A mid-engined two-seater based on the Lamborghini Gallardo. Sometime last year, a heavily disguised test mule began making the rounds. Then, this month, a Web site editor at Carster.com stumbled upon what most watchers believe to be the production version of the R8, unmasked in Santa Monica, California. The shots spread throughout the Internet as if Paris Hilton were down on her knees again. But something didn't look quite right. Before we continue, let's get one thing straight....

The regimen included staving off mosquitos, shooting slingshots and a few epic training rides through the Rocky Mountain backcountry. "We just wanted to have fun, and it worked out because the riding was great," Irmiger said. "I had a pretty awesome bonk one day. I broke my derailleur and ran out of water and food. Jeremy told me, Maybe someone just got the altitude grumpies.' I was like, Dude! Shut up!' We rode around 12,000 feet. It felt so bad." The altitude grumpies were in full force at Brian Head, where the course's 27-mile single lap started at 10,000 feet and just got higher....
