| | | The priceless Shatner stone | | Posted Monday, August 28, 2006 12:46:03 PM by Blog57 Team | | Last fall, a 1975 Ford Escort GL was sold in Las Vegas for $690,000. Why so much? Because it once belonged to Pope John Paul II. The company who sold it, Kruse International, described it as “The most extraordinary 1975 Ford Escort GL ever to be made available to the public." The following January, in an act perversely evocative of the human organ trade, the most extraordinary kidney stone ever to be made available to the public was purchased for $25,000 by the casino, GoldenPalace.com. It used to belong to another guy who, like the Pope, was well-connected to the heavens: William Shatner. Now that's the kind of creative thinking our racino should be using. Buy up the byproducts of celebrity disease and auction them off. Luckily for the racino, these items are now increasingly available, thanks to celebrities wishing to emulate the Shatner Stone.... | |
