1988 Ferrari 328 GTB from UK and Ireland

Just read this feature and its comments and I agree with a lot of the views on here and feel differently to some, I owned a non ABS 328 gts and it was indeed a great car, and is, I would agree a painfully beautiful car. and indeed I would agree any ferrari (even the bad ones) has a charecter and soul that you just don't find in any other manufacturers cars, however as a driver more than an art critic, my 355 could never be described as ugly or bland, and if it looks like a japanese car (which I don't think it does) its because the japanese have tried to imitate european car design as opposed to the other way round) the 355 is so much more of a drivers car than the 328 it handles better has more grip, communicates more, has a better driving position (althought the stearing wheel angle could be better) it sounds better (even before I fitted a tubi exhaust) stops better and is built better (even though it still has its typical italian spats every now and again)....

Ferrari show fuels fans' dreams

IF your wallet is big enough to afford a Ferrari in the first place, small matters such as filling its tank under current prices won't worry you much. And while price tags for some vintage models climb past the $1 million mark, dreaming won't cost you a cent. There were plenty of dreamers at the biggest Ferrari exhibition in the southern hemisphere yesterday in Sydney. One of those who came to ogle the 130-plus Ferraris, worth about $30million in total, was Carmine Torrelli, a builder from Kingsgrove in Sydney's southwest and his son Adam, 16. "My son is a Ferrari fanatic. We just had to come," he said. And his son's verdict? "It's fantastic." The first Ferrari Adam saw was a rare classic, a 1987 F40, the last sportscar signed off on by the legendary Enzo Ferrari before he died....

Ferrari Panamerican Starts This Week
Posted Saturday, August 26, 2006 2:46:36 AM by Blog57 Team
It's almost time for some of the world's motoring journalists to take a heavily managed but nonetheless challenging run up the Panamerican Highway, in something Ferrari likes to call the Panamerican 20,000. In two days, journos -- "representing the most important publications from all over the world" (says you Ferrari!) -- will embark in two Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano models from somewhere the southern hemisphere (Brazil, actually) on an 84-day, tag-team journey that will take them through the Andes mountains, the Darién Gap (pack your M16s and bug spray, guys) and the messy track through Central America. Then, it's over the border and across the US to Nueva York -- 16 countries in all. Oh wait -- check out the map after the jump. Looks like the Darién Gap -- a bit of trail between Colombia and Panama that only a CIA wet team could love -- is off the agenda....

Ferrari flagship on sale Down Under

Ferrari's latest supercar, the front-engined V12 599 GTB Fiorano has officially gone on sale in Australia. But even at $574,000 for the six-speed manual (the F1 sequential manual version will set you back an even $600K) you'd better break open the piggy bank quick smart if you want to secure your very own. According to Ferrari's Australian distributor, European Automotive Imports, the full allocation for Australia and New Zealand in 2006, and most of 2007, is already spoken for. The 599 GTB Fiorano is named after Ferrari's own test track. Combining racecar performance (0-100km/h in 3.7sec and a top speed in excess of 330km/h) with comfort, luxury and exclusivity, it features cutting edge technology -- from the F1-Trac electronic chassis control system to the SCM Magnetorheological Suspension that can instantly change the response of the suspension to compensate for differing road and driving conditions....

Dubbed the Ferrari Panamerican 20,000, the trek will be staged across 16 countries from August 24 to November 17. Ferrari says it is inviting international journalists from "the most important publications" to take turns behind the wheel of the Fioranos during the 15-stage, 84-day tour. The trip starts at Fiat's Latin American headquarters in Belo Horizonte. Along the way, participants can expect to encounter Amazonian rainforests, the Andes mountains, the Argentinian pampas, ancient Mayan and Aztec ruins in Mexico and, of course, the urban jungle of Manhattan. Ferrari says the Fioranos will remain relatively stock but will get slightly raised suspensions and additional underbody protection. They'll be painted in rossa corsa, a.k.a. Italian racing red, and Tour de France blue, with special livery....
