The major debutante was Jaguars XKR, although BMW also officially launched the M6 Convertible and Aston Martin were showing the highly-acclaimed Rapide concept to the general public for the first time in the UK. Perhaps best described as on the start of a learning curve (the Show lacked representation from Audi, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maserati, Porsche, and Maybach) there was nevertheless still something to interest the Classic Driver reader. BMW had several examples of its newest M model, the M6 convertible, and at the launch were at pains to emphasis the importance of the company to British manufacturing (via MINI and Rolls-Royce at Goodwood) and also the fact the UK is the second largest export market in the world for M motor cars.... | |

But it's not a daily driver, and never has been. A true sports car, the odometer shows only 7,700 miles, and an appraiser and a New York Morgan dealer think this is correct. "As far as we know I'm the fourth owner," said Prior, who found the car through word of mouth in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina in 2000. It had been sitting in a garage for 10 years and wasn't in bad shape, but Prior "took it right down to the chassis," during his two-year restoration.
