| Acura's TSX is it a luxury car or just feels like it? | | Posted Tuesday, February 14, 2006 2:08:48 PM by Alex Molin | Acura is one of the most estimated auto manufacturers. It introduced the TSX model in 2003 and the model became a hit almost over night. The Acura's TSX is often compared to the great Honda Accord. 
Why? First of all because it feels like it, it also has the same proportions and many features like the rake of the windshield are placed the same.
Second it has all those wonderful features we like in the Accord such as reliability, stylization, and is very easy to cope with. But for many people the most important reason they prefer it on the Accord is that it is the most affordable luxury car.
Acura TSX is actually a luxury version of the Honda Accord and it costs only $28,000. This fact made it very popular almost instantly. It was introduced in 2003 and by 2005 the Acura's car sales increased by 15%.
The TSX model feels like a cheaper car but was modified to feel more extravagant. Its interior design can easily compete with other admirable interior designs such as Porsche.
How ever, you won't find all that luxurious extravagant found in the TSX's toughest competitors - the "3 Series" or the "Audi A4. Acura has set the goal to become even better than those two but it is no secret that at the moment the TSX is not measuring up and there's a lot to be done to get her there.

| | | 2005 Acura TSX 5AT from North America | | Posted Saturday, October 28, 2006 2:46:39 AM by Blog57 Team | | What things have gone wrong with the car? - Driver Side Window use to Squeak (fixed by dealer) - Front Rotors warped (Refinished @ 25000km under warranty) - Rear Rotors warped due to malfunction in rear brake calipers. Pad seized within caliper. Rotor refinished and rear pads replaced under warranty. - Driver seat shifts/moves during hard turns. - OEM All-season tires needed to be replaced with winter tires & rims. (they are more spring/summer/fall tires - terrible on ice) General comments? The car is quick, but not TL "fast". All of it's power is felt @ 6600 RPM when VTEC kicks in. The car performs beautifully on the highway, smooth and responds well. The engine is smooth as silk, and so is the 5AT transmission.... | |

Police know of at least three business people who have been approached with the scam, including one Mississauga resident defrauded of $49,000. The suspects tell the victims they have a substantial amount of U.S. cash they want to bring to Canada from Nigeria, but to transport the money, they need to disguise it with a chemical to turn it black. In order to return the money to its original form, a special chemical is needed. The suspects provide a demonstration with some blacked out money and the victim is asked to help buy more of the chemical to clean the remainder of the cash. A man was killed and four other people, including a 7-year-old child, were injured late Wednesday night in a head-on car crash on Westborough Boulevard. Raymond Masaganda, 44, of South San Francisco, was heading west on Westborough at about 9:36 p.m. when an eastbound Mercedes crossed over the center median and slammed into his Acura near Junipero Serra Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol. Masaganda was found dead at the scene with his car's two front and two side airbags deployed. Firefighters had to pull all four occupants out of the Mercedes, including a 7-year-old child who was sitting in the back seat. The child sustained major injuries. Last week, if you'll recall, the Boston Globe accidentally broke the publication embargo, effectively opening the online floodgates for news of the Type S's return. As we mentioned earlier, the Type-S -- the badge is back after a three-year absence -- gets a new 3.5-liter V6 that produces 286 hp and 256 lb.-ft of torque, a firmer suspension and interior and exterior tweaks. That's a jump from the base model's 3.2-liter mill that generates 258 hp.
